Admission Requirements for Ph.D. programs The student must hold a master's degree with a minimum grade of "Very Good (3.0 out of 4.0) and a bachelor's degree with a minimum grade of 2.5 out of 4.0 or equivalent from a university, college, or an institute recognized by the Ministry of Education of the UAE. Students in programs taught in English must obtain 550 on the TOEFL (PBT) (should be taken inside the university), 79 on the TOEFL (IBT) (outside the university) or 6 on IELTS (Academic). For the Ph.D. in Applied Sociology and Law programs, the student must obtain 500 on the TOEFL (PBT) (should be taken inside the university), 61 on the TOEFL (IBT) (outside the university) or 5.0 on IELTS. For the programs taught in Arabic, the student must obtain 450 on the TOEFL (PBT) (should be taken inside the university), 45-46 on the TOEFL (IBT) (outside the university) or 4.5 on IELTS.
