A Masters in Sciences Program in Crisis and Emergency Management is offered through the College of Business at the University of Modern Sciences (UMS), Dubai, United Arab Emirates (UAE). This program is taught through the joint faculties of UMS and the North Dakota State University (NDSU). NDSU’s Emergency Management (EM) program is one the premier EM program in the United States, offering a comprehensive educational program including bachelors, masters and doctoral degrees within the field.
The program provides students from UAE and the Gulf Cooperative Council with the vision and practical tools to enhance their leadership skills within the fields of Crisis and Emergency Management. Students are provided with strong foundations in both the theoretical and applied aspects of Crisis and Emergency Management. Graduates of this program have an expanded understanding of the ideas that form the foundation of the field of crisis and emergency management, and will be able to apply this knowledge and associated skills to their professional practice.

Requirements for admission to master's programs in UMS: Regular Admission Bachelor's degree should be in the same field of the master's program the student wished to follow. a minimum cumulative grade point average of 3.00 out of 4.00, or its equivalent. the degree must be awarded from a university that is accredited by the ministry of higher education and research of the UAE or an internationally recognized institution. For masters programs which are in English: 550 in paper Tofel, or 213 in computer test, or 79 for international Tofel, or 6.0 for Ielts. UMS may accept any other standard test which is internationally approved and accredited by the Ministry of Higher Education and Research in the UAE. Conditional admission UMS offers a conditional admission, whose CGBA is below 3.00 if he is committed to the following: Bachelor's degree should be in the same field of the master's program the student wished to follow. The student shall hold a bachelor's degree from one of UAE universities or any other universities which are accredited and authenticated by the ministry of higher education and research in the UAE. For masters programs which are in English: 550 in paper Tofel, or 213 in computer test, or 79 for international Tofel, or 6.0 for IELTS. UMS may accept any other standard test which is internationally approved and accredited by the Ministry of Higher Education and Research in the UAE. Conditional admission for not fulfilling English proficiency requirement: Bachelor's degree should be in the same field of the master's program the student wished to follow. The student shall hold a bachelor's degree from one of UAE universities or any other universities which are accredited and authenticated by the ministry of higher education and research in the UAE. Tofel score should be between 530 and 550 or its equivalent of the tests which are approved and depended by Ministry of higher education and research in the UAE. Admission of professional applicants with waiver of the CGPA requirement: Bachelor's degree should be held within four years as it should be in the same field of the master's program the student wished to follow. Five years of graduation at least. The student shall hold a bachelor's degree from one of UAE universities or any other universities which are accredited and authenticated by the ministry of higher education and research in the UAE. For master's programs which are in English: 550 in paper Tofel, or 213 in computer test, or 79 for international Tofel, or 6.0 for IELTS. UMS may accept any other standard test which is internationally approved and accredited by the ministry of higher education and research in the UAE.
