ECMIT is an institution of higher education which was originally established and licensed by the UAE Ministry of Education in 1998 as Emirates Center for Management and Information Technology. In 2004, the center was renamed as Emirates College for Management and Information Technology, and a set of five mission-driven goals was developed which was to shape the future course of the college. In 2003, the college proposed to the Ministry of Higher Education (MOHESR) of the UAE its own 2-year AS degree programs in interdisciplinary sciences with majors in business and IT which were given initial accreditation in 2004.
Admission detail
Before you apply, you must be nearing graduation or you must have already graduated from high school. This means that the entire curriculum must be successfully completed. Entry requirements are: UAE Ministry of Education Curriculum: Year 10-12, 70%. US High School Diploma: Year 10-12, 70% (C average or 2.5/4.0) with SAT 440 in Math and 500 in English. UK IGCSE/GCSE/GCE (O/AS/A Levels): Year 10-13: Equivalent to 2 A Levels min Grade C. Europe International Baccalaureate Diploma: Year 10-13, 26 points. India CBSE and ISC: Year 10+2, 60%. China: Senior Secondary School Certificate: Year 10-12, 70% Satisfactory. We accept students from all backgrounds and educational systems. Please get in touch with us to find out the minimum grade point average required as per the curriculum you are studying. ENGLISH PROFICIENCY English Language proficiency is mandatory. To evaluate your English level, you must take the IELTS or the TOEFL exams, which are standardized tests designed for this purpose. The minimum scores that we accept are: TOEFL iBT (Internet Based Test): 71 - please be sure to include EAHM's institutional TOEFL code (7116) when booking the test. IELTS Academic: 5.5 Achieving one of these scores is a mandatory requirement from the UAE Ministry of Education for all students, regardless of their country of origin. Once you arrive at EAHM, you will take an English Diagnostic Test during Orientation Week. This will help us identify the need for additional support that you may require from your teachers during the first trimester.
