Jumeira University’s undergraduate program in Early Childhood Education is designed to provide students with both the academic foundation and the private/public school experience necessary to become successful beginning teachers of children from birth to 8 years (Grade Three). The Program aims to support students in expressing intellectual independence and become advocates of quality teaching in the early childhood field. The designated standards for the National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC) serve as the JU curriculum design principles and standards.

The program has integrated field-based experiences in multiple early childhood settings and hands-on experience provided on campus through JU Child Developmental Center.

The development of the digital world has brought with it exciting new career paths in the field of education. Classrooms across the globe now rely on educational technology as a means of teaching. The Bachelor of Educational Technology aims to equip students with the knowledge and understanding of the latest trends and techniques in the interdisciplinary field of education. From the development and design of e-learning programs to special topics in games and simulation, students will gain the skills needed for the digital world.

This program will equip students with the skills, depth of understanding, and practical experiences required to move into the field of Educational Administration. You will learn how to supervise and manage programs in secondary and higher education. As the demand for education grows in the region, the need for those with the skills to step in and help build successful institutions grows accordingly. This specialization aims to develop professionals who have the knowledge and capacity to respond to the ever-changing environment of educational supervision. Internships and practical work will introduce you to the world of administration in schools and universities and allow you to see how what you are learning in the classroom is done in the administrative and managerial departments of the institutions you work in. The courses span through the business and educational spheres to provide a solid base for starting your career.

This program aims to graduate professionals who promote psychological health, educational expertise, and a strong commitment to community service. A degree in Educational Psychology and Counseling provides the tools to become reflective learners and skilled communicators who contribute to positive learning environments while demonstrating an appreciation for multiculturalism in the educational sector. Throughout the four-year program, practical components, such as internships, encourage and support students’ professional growth and development in a global environment.

Acquisition of knowledge, skills and attributes that are necessary for those who intend to build their career in educational psychology and counseling.
Articulate and apply current best practices in the counseling of learners and in serving as an institutional focal point for educational psychology and counseling expertise.
Development of skills for creating, and assisting learners in creating, learning environments that support diversified learning styles, multiculturalism, and that are free from prejudice.

The Department of Physical Education at UAEU is committed to preparing students as successful teachers of health and physical education for all grades (K-12). Through their training in this program, students will make a valuable contribution to their society by serving as role models and lifestyle educators. Students will develop many competencies in a variety of movement skills, and in physical fitness as well as being capable of analyzing, synthesizing, and applying scientific knowledge to the practice of health and physical education. The Bachelor of Education in Health and Physical Education (HPE) at United Arab Emirates University can achieve this by enhancing the knowledge, skills, and dispositions of undergraduate HPE students.

The Art Education Program is designed to prepare art teachers for grades K-9, Cycle 1 and Cycle 2 according to the classifications of Abu Dhabi Educational Council (ADEC) and the Ministry of Education. This program is offered in collaboration with the College of Humanities and Social Sciences. The major theme of the program is to prepare highly qualified Art teachers as professional practitioners.

This program provides students with the knowledge, skills and dispositions to become highly qualified educators who at the early child hood educational level. The study plan includes a combination of academic and professional coursework with field experience in the classroom that prepares graduates for teaching in the real world.

Special Education means specially designed instruction to meet the unique needs of individuals with special needs. The B.A. in Special Education is designed for students interested in providing services to individuals with special needs. This program provides students with the knowledge, skills and dispositions to become highly qualified special educators who can help students with special needs achieve a higher level of personal self-sufficiency and success in school and in the community. The study plan includes a combination of academic and professional coursework with field experience in the classroom that prepares graduates for teaching in the real world. The program gives the students the opportunity to select a concentration track within two areas of Special Education. These concentration tracks include mild/moderate disabilities and gifted and talented.

The Master of Education program can be completed within two years. On average, students enroll in two courses each semester. The program, made up solely of evening classes, combines six core courses with five further specialized courses in elementary or secondary education. It also includes a 15-week (one semester) supervised Practicum experience and a Capstone research project.
