The College of Design is considered one of most dynamic Colleges at the University AUE. It consists of four important programs that are unique, and very technical. The College of Design at AUE provides its students, a wide variety of educational and career opportunities, and encourages creative minds, in order for the students to be able to peruse professional careers in the industry. Students learn the theoretical knowledge, as well as learning the practical experience to prepare them for challenging careers in any of the following programs.

Holders of UAE Secondary School Certificate Original Copy of the General Secondary School Certificate, attested by the UAE Ministry of Education. The minimum score average required for direct admission is based on the academic stream followed by the applicants during their senior school year, as following: Advance/ Scientific stream: Minimum average is 70% General/ literary stream: Minimum average is 75% Other Streams (Technical, Vocational, Commercial ,,, etc): Minimum Average is 80% International students Applications of holders of a non UAE High School Certificate, obtained abroad, are processed in accordance with decrees No. 200/2004 and 312 /2004 of His Excellency the Minister of Higher Education & Research, UAE as follows: In general, holders of the National High School Certificate of a foreign country are eligible for admission if: Should achieve a minimum average of 70% in their senior school year for direct admission. The certificate is considered for admissions in public universities of the Country where it was delivered, The certificate was obtained after at least 11 years of schooling, The certificate includes at least 6 subjects covering the four areas: Mathematics, Sciences, Languages, and Social Sciences & Humanities or Arts. Holders of High School Certificates from countries having two-levels High School Certificates must submit the certificate of the higher level. Applicants are required to submit certificate of equivalency for their High School Certificates from the UAE Ministry of Education. Holders of American High School Diploma: High School Diploma (grade 10, 11 & 12) attested by the UAE Ministry of Education with minimum GPA of 2.50 (Or 70%) Applicants are required to submit certificate of equivalency for their High School Certificates from the UAE Ministry of Education Holders of British System Certificate (IGCSE, GCSE): The minimum required for university admission is a total of seven (7) courses at O-level and AS/A2 level, with a minimum grade of C The courses should cover at least four of the following fields: Mathematics Languages Sciences Social Studies and Humanities Arts and Design in addition, students will need to submit the following documents to complete their admission process: School Leaving Certificate (Grade 12) Applicants are required to submit certificate of equivalency for their High School Certificates from the UAE Ministry of Education Foreign Curriculums Holders of High School Diplomas from Private schools in UAE, who have done their Diplomas based on Foreign Curriculums should achieve a minimum average of 70% in their senior year, and will need to submit a certificate of equivalency for their High School Diplomas from the UAE Ministry of Education. Probation Admission Students who didn't achieve the minimum average required for direct admission (but not less than 60%), will be probationary admitted for one semester, where they will be allowed to enroll in a maximum of 12 Credit Hours, and should achieve a minimum CGPA of 2.6 by the end of the semester. Students who fail to achieve the aforementioned condition, will be dismissed from the program. ENGLISH PROFICIENCY REQUIREMENTS Applicants should provide a valid copy of one of the following: TOEFL PBT scored 500 or above, (The TOEFL PBT can be taken at any of the accredited higher education institutions in UAE). OR TOEFL iBT, scored 61 or above. OR IELTS Academic scored 5.0 or above. OR The Cambridge English: Advanced Test of English, scored 41 or above. OR The City & Guilds International Test of English for speakers of Other Languages ESOL (IESOL), scored B2 or above. OR The Pearson test of English Academic (PTE Academic), scored 44 or above. OR EmSAT English 1100 Applicants for Bachelor in Public Relations (Arabic) should provide a valid copy of one of the following: TOEFL PBT scored 450 or above, (The TOEFL PBT can be taken at any of the accredited higher education institutions in UAE). OR IELTS Academic scored 4.5 or above. OR The Cambridge English: Advanced Test of English, scored 36 or above. OR The City & Guilds International Test of English for speakers of Other Languages ESOL (IESOL), scored B1 or above. OR The Pearson test of English Academic (PTE Academic), scored 38 or above. OR EmSAT English 950 All applicants should sit for the Entry Interview All applicants should write one-page (250 words) personal admission statement in English or in the case of intending CLAW students, in Arabic. Valid Passport Copy Valid Emirates ID Certificate of Good Conduct (From Local Police Authority). Conditional Admission Students who are unable to meet the admission requirements regarding the TOEFL or IELTS English Proficiency test scores (see above) are conditionally admitted to the Intensive English Program (IEP) offered by the English Language Institute (ELI) provided that they obtain the required scores of 500+ AUE TOEFL or 5.0+ Academic IELTS or 61+ iBT TOEFL test. Before the end of their first semester at the university. Placement Tests New students at all undergraduate programs will have to sit for placement tests as per their program of study. Computer Technology All new undergraduate students will need to sit for placement tests in computer technology, students who fail in the test, will need to take a preparatory course in computer technology during their first semester in AUE. Mathematics All new undergraduate students in the College of Computer Information Technology and College Of Business Administration will need to take placement test in Mathematics, students who fail in the test, will need to take a preparatory course in Mathematics during their first semester in AUE. Physics All new undergraduate students in the College of Computer Information Technology will need to take placement test in Physics, students who fail in the test, will need to take a preparatory course in Physics during their first semester in AUE. Arabic All new undergraduate students in the College of Law and Bachelor of Public Relations (Arabic stream) will need to take placement test in Arabic, students who fail in the test, will need to take a preparatory course in Arabic during their first semester in AUE. Students who will be studying preparatory courses, will only be able to enroll in maximum of 12 Credit Hours of regular courses during their first semester.
