Al Dar University Admission detail

Prospective students are invited to contact the Admissions Department at Aldar University College to learn more about the programs available, admission requirements, tuition fees, and other offered student services.

For your application to be successful, you will need to satisfy the general University entry requirements, as well as any additional requirements of the program you applied for. Applications are accepted throughout the year for Fall, Spring and Summer semesters. Successful applications are submitted to the Registration office for review and further processing. Admission Requirements For Undergraduate Programs

GENERAL REQ.

Admission Requirements

  • Application Form, completed and signed by the applicant
  • A non-refundable application fee of AED 420
  • Original High School Certificate or Equivalent (See Program Specific Admission Requirements for more Details)
  • Four Passport size photographsCopy of Passport, Visa Page and Emirates ID Card
  • No objection letter from NATIONAL MILITARY SERVICE for UAE Nationals

Conditional Admission

  • Students, who do not meet all admission requirements, may be admitted on a conditional basis. The circumstances under which a student is placed under conditional admission are the following:
    • Students who do not meet the English proficiency requirements (IELTS/TOEFL or equivalent).
    • Students who do not meet the English proficiency requirements are not allowed to register no more than 15 credits (or equivalent) of general education course work in a preparatory program to contribute towards an undergraduate degree.
    • Students who did not provide all required attested documents at the time of admission are required to complete their files by the end of the first semester.
    • Upon meeting the above requirements, the conditional admission will be lifted and full admission granted

Attestation of High School Certificate and other Documents:

  • Candidates, from high schools in the UAE, must attest their certificates and transcripts by the UAE Ministry of Education.

High School certificates and transcripts obtained abroad must be attested by:

  • Ministry of Education of the country of study
  • Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the country of study
  • UAE Embassy in that country, or the Embassy of the country of study in the UAE, and the UAE Ministry of Foreign Affairs
  • In addition, an equivalency letter is required from the UAE Ministry of Education.

Transfer Students Admission

  • Transferring students to Al Dar must satisfy the following minimum requirements:
    • Meet all standard admissions requirements of the College undergraduate programs
    • Have been enrolled at local universities and colleges accredited by the CAA of the MOHESR, or licensed and accredited by the country’s relevant authority for institutions located outside the UAE
    • Meet the Standard English Proficiency requirement. Transfer students must submit evidence of English Proficiency at the time of admission
    • The maximum authorized credit transfer is 50% of the credit requirements of the Bachelor degree programs
    • The last two semesters must be completed in residency at Al Dar University College.
    • Only courses with a minimum grade of C are eligible for transfer

Student transferring to Al Dar University College must submit the following documents:

  • Original transcripts from the institution from which they are transferring
  • Detailed course syllabus and course description of all courses for which credit transfer is requested

ENGLISH REQ.

All students are required to provide a certificate of English proficiency, such as TOEFL, IELTS, Pearson, EMSAT, Cambridge, IESOL or an equivalent standardized English language test that is internationally recognized.

PLACEMENT TEST

  • All students who do not demonstrate proof of proficiency in English (IELTS, TOEFL or its equivalent), must take the English Placement Exam at the time of admission. Students will be placed in different English levels (Level A or Level B) based on Placement Exam Results.

PROGRAM SPECIFIC

Engineering Programs

  • Hold a UAE High School Certificate or its equivalent ( Pass )
    • Original High school certificate for the 12th grade with average minimum of 90% and minimum 90% in Science and Maths in the 12th
    • Pre-physics course during the first semester
  • For Advanced level of UAE public schools or equivalent
    • Original High school for the 12th grade with average minimum of 70%
    • Original High school for the 12th grade with average between 60% and 70% may be admitted on probation and they must obtain a C grade on Physics 1 and Calculus 1 in the first semester
  • For Advanced level of UAE public schools under the Abu Dhabi Education Council (ADEC)or equivalent
    • High school average for the 12th grade of minimum 70%
  • Have succeeded in advanced math and Physics (level 3)
    • One of the Following English Proficiency Requirements(Applies for all levels Above)

  • Hold a UAE High School Certificate or its equivalent ( Pass )
    • Original High school certificate for the 12th grade  with average minimum of 60% or its equivalent (Pass)
  • For Students holding American Secondary Degree (High School Diploma) or The International/French Baccalaureate:
    • Must have completed 12 years of studies upon obtaining the High School Certificate
    • Submit a certified copy of grades 10, 11, and 12 transcript certificates
    • Must have completed at least (6) courses successfully within at least four of the following study areas: Mathematics, Sciences, Social Studies, and languages
  • For Students holding a British Secondary Certificate (IGCSE, GCSE, GCE):
    • A total of 7 O-Level or GCSE/IGCSE subjects are required or alternatively, a combination of O-Level and AS/A-Levels, provided that the subjects cover at least four of the following fields: Math, Science, Languages, Humanities and Social Sciences and/or Arts and Design.
    • The minimum required grades for the above accepted subjects are “C” for the O level, “D” for AS level, and “E” for the A level.
